Navigating the ins and outs of FSMA’s Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) is a tremendous investment for any team. Like most federal regulations, the FSVP includes many definitions, exemptions, and jargon. Essentially, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) wants companies importing food into the United States to make sure it’s up to the FDA’s standards. But there’s a lot more to it than that.
To further complicate matters, last April the FDA rolled out provisional policy changes governing compliance with FSMA’s FSVP during the pandemic. The agency is conducting remote inspections, and several companies have earned warning letters.
Watch this recorded webinar featuring James Chu, FSVP Lead Instructor and Supplier Quality Manager for John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc., and TraceGains Sr. Account Executive James Yarbrough for a better look at how companies should comply with these policy updates, including how to verify suppliers remotely and the best way to prepare for a remote FDA inspection.
